The 'Beauty in Black' collection is a set of 12 pieces, by yours truly, that show the diversity of the black woman. It is a representation and appreciation of SHE, no matter what form she may take. As a person who has struggled with being insecure about my appearance, I believe it's very important to learn to appreciate every version of ourselves that we get to embody. I tried my best to represent them as beautifully as I could. I didn't want them to look like anyone specifically, because the point is for as many women to be able to see themselves in one of the pieces. I designed and wrote a book about the art and story of the collection for my final year project in school.
